6 questions with a Highwire VP

This bookworm loves to tell impactful stories.

What’s your favorite aspect of the PR space?

I love sitting at the intersection of stories and topics that matter. Whether it’s cybersecurity, AI, tech regulation, the future of work or elevating diverse voices, I live for the opportunity to tell smart, strategic and agenda-setting stories that shape national conversations, transcend corporate goals, set the standard for emerging businesses and shine light on the people that drive them.

What did you do prior to Highwire?

I’ve been working in B2B Tech PR since 2016, but my background and degree is in book publishing. I worked at an independent, women-owned publishing house called Bibliomotion after college. To this day, I consider its founders to be among my strongest and closest mentors.

What led you to PR?
I’ve always been a storyteller at heart. During college, I interned at The MIT Press as a book publicity intern. I had an amazing supervisor who encouraged and empowered me to pursue book publicity as a career path after college. I ultimately took on the role of publicist at Bibliomotion with the help and support of its founders. We primarily published business books, so the transition to executive comms for B2B tech companies when I took on my first agency role was more seamless than you’d think. At the end of the day, it’s all about telling strong and powerful stories.
If you weren’t working in PR, what would you be doing instead?
Working in a bookshop – ideally an indie shop that sells rare and out-of-print books – talking to people about my recommended reads and favorite authors all day long.
What I’m doing when I’m not working…
Enjoying all that New England has to offer with my husband, our toddler and our Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. We try to do a few beach trips every summer (Nantucket, the Cape, South Shore and Plum Island are among our faves) and we love exploring new restaurants. I’m also an avid runner (still chasing a BQ!) and reader.
What do you miss about where you’re from?
I grew up just outside of Philadelphia and most of my family are still there. I am lucky that we are close enough to visit often, but I miss the proximity of my family, the friends I grew up with, LaSpada’s hoagies, soft pretzels and going to Phillies games.
