7 questions with our Enterprise EVP

The right mix of family, friends, food, and a dog called Jackson coupled with an upbringing in the Mediterranean makes for a very idyllic life for Carolina

Tell us about yourself.

I grew up in a laid back community in the Mediterranean. A tourist destination, I was surrounded by people of multiple backgrounds who spoke many languages and decided at an early age I would become an interpreter. Being part of the fast moving technology industry never crossed my mind until I moved to San Francisco after I graduated from university.

Fast forward and that is exactly what I enjoy about my day-to-day in the tech and communications industry, the speed of change and the impact technology continues to have in our lives. More than two decades in, it continues to keep me interested, learning and moving forward.

What are your focus areas?

I love spending time with clients, getting to understand their business and working closely with teams to figure out how to deliver the most impactful outcomes in the most effective way.

Things I love in no particular order:

My family, friends, traveling, a good hike, my dog, the ocean, food, wine, Christmas ornaments.

What was your most embarrassing moment in this business?

I will never forget during one of my first new business pitches, after working on the presentation and ideas for days, when the CMO asked if we had used their product.  I stood there in silence, this was an easily accessible product and there was no reason not to have tested it. I knew right away that all those hours of work and great ideas were out the window for something that should have been really obvious to do. It was a good lesson.

Tell us about your pets.

Jackson, the never-gets-tired rescue shepherd/pointer mix who is keeping my household in shape.

What was growing up like for you?

It is hard to explain how idyllic my upbringing was. While my parents were really easy going, they also were clear on the parameters they set. As long as I stayed within those parameters I was free to roam and do as I wanted, as long as I didn’t do anything wrong. I didn’t have much of a schedule, particularly during the summer months. My early childhood memories involve the fast lunchtime beach breaks for a dip in the sea on the back of my dad’s orange Vespa, returning to school with damp hair and salty skin just in time for the afternoon classes to begin.

What do you do for a good time when you’re not working?

I love to spend time hiking and walking in the Golden Gate park, Presidio and Lands End Trail and cheering from the sidelines at my kids sports games.
