Getting into good trouble:
The DIBs Council

We learn from and amplify our agency’s diverse perspectives and lived experiences to help us create meaningful work and to fortify our collective DIBs journey. We honor the dimensions of our human diversity with the understanding that the more we are in touch with the facets of our own identities, the more we are able to connect and celebrate the identities of others. Leveraging these shared learnings, every employee has the opportunity to hone their skills to become better allies, accomplices and co-conspirators in the quest for equity, inclusion and belonging.

Holding ourselves accountable

We go beyond lip service and performative box-checks: Diversity, Inclusion, & Belonging is embedded into our agency’s DNA. Highwire holds every employee accountable for bringing a DIBs goal to life. Every leader is involved in our diversity recruitment journey. We take a stance on critical issues and are taking steps to support more BIPOC, LGBTQ+ and women-owned vendors. We collect and share data about our DIBs journey. Our DIBs Council and employee-led affinity groups are supported by storytellers and creatives from every level of the agency.

Creating partnerships that matter

We prioritize establishing and sustaining partnerships to empower and ally with historically underserved populations where we live and work. We enjoy volunteering at BIPOC-owned community gardens, linking arms with leaders who are closing the digital divide in Black/Brown communities, collecting donations for community-based Back-to-School drives and more. We also seek out and provide pro bono counsel for organizations like COOP Careers, a similarly values-driven organization.

Highwire for everyone

We take action on behalf of all of our employees and give them the tools to thrive in their careers. Every employee is encouraged to participate in our robust mentoring program, and our growing affinity groups. We create safe spaces for our employees to come together around culture, community and career development. As aspiring allies, we understand that our aim in this deeply personal Diversity, Inclusion, & Belonging work is progress, not perfection.

We amplify the historically underrepresented voices in our industry, from artists to inspiring leaders. We work to make sure everyone—regardless of age, race/ethnicity, size, shape, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion and disabilities–feels safe, celebrated and worthy.

Community Engagement

We pay homage to the time-honored heritage milestones, observances and cultural moments that are meaningful to our communities. We have partnered with industry peers to co-host groundbreaking conversations that challenge our perceptions, such as our first Juneteenth panel that we hosted with the Silicon Valley chapter of PRSA. As part of the conversation, we explored the quests of Black women to find freedom in the workplace through cultural identity and hair expression.

Digital at Highwire

Highwire’s digital team consists of expert communicators who leverage a deep understanding of clients’ businesses and markets to develop audience-first integrated campaigns that deliver.

Affinity Groups

We’re stronger together. Join one of our employee-led affinity groups when you join our team. At Highwire, our affinity groups have been instrumental in identifying issues that warrant deeper and more thoughtful action and engagement with the agency at large and our stakeholders. Our current groups are featured below, and we have plans to expand this network.
