Highwire Public Relations, Inc. (“Company,” “us,” “we,” or “our”) understands that privacy is important to our users. This Privacy Policy discloses our practices regarding information collection and usage for highwirepr.com ( the “Site”). The Site allows users to: (i) access and download certain information we provide through the Site; and (ii) contact us electronically (collectively, the “Service”).

Except as expressly stated herein, this Privacy Policy does not apply to any third-party applications or technologies that integrate with our Service (e.g., social media sites, etc.), or any other third-party products, services, or businesses, or to third-party websites that you access via links or otherwise while using the Site or the Service (“Third-Party Services”). This Privacy Policy does not apply to data collected from, or provided by you to, Third-Party Services, and instead such data is subject to the practices of the provider(s) of the applicable Third-Party Services. You should review the privacy policies of such Third-Party Services (and any other applicable terms and conditions) to determine how your data will be used before sharing any of your data with them.

This Privacy Policy is incorporated into and subject to the terms of our Terms of Use posted on our Site (collectively, the “Terms of Use”).

1. Overview of this Policy

  • We collect Personally Identifiable Information (as defined below) from users of our Site when it is voluntarily provided to us and use it for the purposes for which it was provided (see Information We Collect Directly From You).
  • We automatically collect information from users of our Site for advertising and analytical purposes (see Information We Collect From You Automatically).
  • We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy.

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully to understand our policies and practices regarding your information and how we will treat it. By visiting our Site, downloading any information made available via our Site (e.g., whitepapers, etc.), using the Service, or in any manner communicating with us via our Site or Service, you accept our practices described in this Policy, and you consent to our collection, use and disclosure of your information, including personally identifiable information, as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not wish to agree to the practices and uses described in this Privacy Policy, please do not access our Site or use the Service. 2. Information We Collect Directly From You

We may collect information, including Personally Identifiable Information, when you provide such information to us directly, such as when you send us an email or text message, give us a telephone call, use a web-based form, or otherwise interact with us on the Site. Your provision of your Personally Identifiable Information to us is completely voluntary. “Personally Identifiable Information” is information that specifically identifies you. We do not collect Personally Identifiable Information unless you submit that information to us. Categories of Personally Identifiable Information we collect directly from you include: identity data (your first and last name), and contact data (your work email address). We may also collect other information that you directly provide us, including business data (your company name, company website, and industry). You may also elect to provide us with other information about yourself or others at your own discretion.

3. Information We Collect Automatically

The Company, Third-Party Services, or our service providers may also automatically collect information from you when you visit our Site and use our Services through cookies and other tracking technologies. Such information does not directly identify you as an individual and may include:

  • Log Data. Like most websites and web-based technology services, our servers may automatically collect data when you access or use the Service and record it in log files. Such may include your Internet Protocol (IP) address, Internet service provider (ISP), geographic location, browser type and settings, information about browser plugins, language preference, default email application, referring/exit websites, operating system, date and time stamp, cookie data, and certain user activities.
  • Technical Data. We may collect technical data, such as information about devices accessing the Service, including the type of device, device settings, operating system, application software, peripherals, and unique device identifiers, phone number, country, location, and any other data you choose to provide. We do not intentionally relate this to any individual user of the Service.
  • Cookies and Similar Technologies. We may store some information on your device or device hard drive as a cookie or similar type of file (such as clear gifs, web beacons, tags, and similar technologies that work on mobile devices) to collect data related to usage of the Site and Service. Cookies are files with a small amount of data, which may include an anonymous unique identifier. Cookies are sent to your browser from a web site and transferred to your device. 4. How We Use Your Data

We use Personally Identifiable Information and other information as described herein including for the following purposes:

  • To operate the Site, provide you and our clients with our Service, and provide any specific services you have requested;
  • To contact you about our Service;
  • For testing, research, analysis, and product development, including to develop and improve our Site, Service, and other products and services;
  • To provide you with support and to respond to your direct inquiries, including to investigate and address your concerns and monitor and improve our responses;
  • To add you to our mailing lists and send you emails from time to time;
  • To personalize your experience with us including by presenting content, products, offers, or marketing messages tailored to you;
  • To carry out our obligations and enforce our rights arising from any contracts entered into between you and us;
  • To help maintain the safety, security, and integrity of our Site, Service, databases, and other technology assets, and business;
  • For detecting security incidents, protecting against malicious, deceptive, fraudulent, or illegal activity, and prosecuting those responsible for that activity;
  • To enforce and monitor adherence to the Terms of Use;
  • To respond to law enforcement requests and as required by applicable law, court order, legal process, or governmental regulation, inclusive of all intellectual property laws; and
  • To transfer your information in connection with a bankruptcy proceeding or the sale, merger, or change of control of the Company or the division responsible for the services with which your information is associated.

We may permit our vendors and subcontractors to access your information, but they are only permitted to do so in connection with performing services for us. They are not authorized by us to use any Personally Identifiable Information for their own benefit.

Please note that if you consent to additional uses of your information, we may use your information in a manner consistent with that consent.

Please be advised that “non-personal information” (i.e., information that does not personally identify you, such as aggregated data) may be shared with any number of parties and may be used in any manner consistent with applicable law and subject to the section titled California Consumer Notice. Without limiting the forgoing, as used herein, personal information does not include information that is lawfully made available from federal, state, or local government records, or de-identified, anonymized, or aggregated information. Please be aware that information which you voluntarily include and transmit on public areas of the Platform, such as comment sections on our blog, should be deemed publicly available information that is not subject to this Privacy Policy.

5. How We Share Your Information

Besides using your Personally Identifiable Information ourselves, we may send your Personally Identifiable Information and other information to other companies, affiliates and third parties in the following instances:

  • Clients. We may share your information with our clients who we provide data management services through our Site.
  • Service Providers. We may share your Personally Identifiable Information with third parties who may use your information to provide us services such as website hosting, data analysis, infrastructure provision, information technology services, customer service, e-mail delivery services, auditing, and anti-fraud monitoring. These third parties may have access to Personally Identifiable Information that is necessary to perform their functions.
  • Legal Compliance and to Defend Our Rights. We may disclose Personally Identifiable Information and other information as we believe necessary or appropriate: (a) under applicable law, including laws outside your country of residence; (b) to comply with legal process; (c) to respond to requests from public and government authorities including public and government authorities outside your country of residence; (d) to enforce our terms and conditions; (e) to protect our operations or those of any of our affiliates; (f) to protect our rights, privacy, safety or property, and/or that of our affiliates, you or others; and (g) to allow us to pursue available remedies or limit the damages that we may sustain.
  • Business Transfers. We may share your Personally Identifiable Information and other information with third parties in connection with a corporate restructuring, merger, acquisition, asset sale, or divestiture. In such cases, we will attempt in good faith to provide notice before your Personally Identifiable Information is transferred and/or becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

Please note that if you specifically consent to additional uses of your Personally Identifiable Information, we may use your Personally Identifiable Information in a manner consistent with that consent.

6. Use of Third Parties and Third Party Services

We may employ third-party companies and individuals to facilitate our Service and manage our Site and to provide the Service on our behalf. These third parties have access to your personal information only to perform specific tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use your information for any other purpose. Moreover, we may use third-party services, such as those that collect, monitor and analyze this type of information in order to increase our Service’s functionality. These third parties may use cookies to help us analyze how our users are using the Service and they have their own Privacy Policies addressing how they use such information. 7. Security

The security of your information is important to us, and we strive to implement and maintain reasonable, commercially acceptable security procedures and practices appropriate to the nature of the information we store, in order to protect it from unauthorized access, destruction, use, modification, or disclosure. Substantially all information we receive from you or via your use of the Service are copied, stored and managed through computer servers owned or controlled by us. While we attempt to employ security techniques commensurate with industry norms to protect your Personal Information and other hosted information from unauthorized access by users inside and outside the organization, you should be aware that “perfect security” does not exist on the internet or any other method of electronic transmission or storage; third parties may unlawfully or improperly intercept or access transmissions, personal information, or private communications. As such, we cannot make any assurances or guarantee in any manner that a security breach will not occur that may expose your Personally Identifiable Information or other information to unauthorized parties.

For example, our servers are not located at our principal place of business but rather are managed and located at a third-party Infrastructure-as-a-Service provider (an “IAAS”). We have taken commercially reasonable steps to choose a professional IAAS provider but we cannot guarantee the performance of the IAAS provider, its security measures, or the actions or inactions it takes in the future. By using our Service, you understand and agree that we have no liability for the action, behaviors or failings of our IAAS provider.

We endeavor to only require the collection of as much Personal Information as required to provide you access to our Service, ensure our ability to send you the communications described above, and meet our legal obligations. In addition, we will use commercially reasonable efforts to attempt to store Personally Identifiable Information in a secure location. We do not represent that any Personally Identifiable Information provided to us will be encrypted in any manner.

If you have reason to believe that your interaction with us is no longer secure (for example, if you feel that the security of any communications you might have with us has been compromised), please immediately notify us of the problem by contacting us at privacy@highwirepr.com.

8. United States of America; International Transfer

Our Site is maintained in the United States and our Service is targeted solely to U.S. users. By using the Site or Service, you authorize the export of personal information to the United States, where it is accessible by U.S. law enforcement. The storage and use of personal information are specified in this Privacy Policy. Your consent to this Privacy Policy, followed by your submission of such information, represents your agreement to abide by the restrictions contained herein.

9. Links To Other Sites 

Our Service and our Site may contain links to other sites that are not operated by us. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that third-party’s site. We strongly advise you to review the privacy policy of every site you visit. We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.

10. Children’s Privacy

Only persons age 18 or older have permission to access our Service. Our Service is meant for working professionals only and, therefore, is not meant to be used or accessed in any manner by minors . We do not knowingly collect Personally Identifiable Information or other information that is protected under applicable law from children under the age of 13 (or such other age as may be restricted under local law). If we come aware that Personally Identifiable Information or other protected information has been collected from such individuals, we will use all reasonable efforts to delete this information from our servers. 11. Enforcement

We will actively monitor our relevant privacy and security practices to verify adherence to this Privacy Policy. Any agents, contractors, service providers, or other third parties subject to this Privacy Policy that we determine to be in violation of this Privacy Policy or applicable data protection laws will be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination of applicable services. 12. Opt Out

To opt out of any future promotional or direct marketing messages from us or to make an access or deletion request, you should send an unsubscribe request by using the “opt out” contact information described below:

Additionally, upon receipt of any electronic communication from us to you, to unsubscribe from future communications, you can click on the link that says words substantially to the effect of: “If you do not wish to receive these emails in the future, You can click here to unsubscribe.”

We will process your request within a reasonable time after receipt. Please note that if you opt out in this manner, certain aspects of the Site or Services may no longer be available to you.

13. California Consumer Notice

If you are a California consumer, as defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (“CCPA”), the CCPA provides you with specific rights regarding your personal information. This section describes rights that pertain solely to California consumers and explains how to exercise those rights. We collect information (some of which may also constitute Personally Identifiable Information) that identifies, relates to, describes, references, or is reasonably capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with a particular consumer or household. The CCPA refers to such information as “personal information.” For the purposes of this section, personal information does not include: (i) information that is lawfully made available from federal, state or local government records; (ii) de-identified or aggregated data; or (iii) information excluded from the scope of the CCPA. To be clear, the rights in this section are not intended to grant you additional rights, but just your rights under CCPA.

Information about our data collection during the prior 12 months is described below.

California consumers may access, delete and control certain uses of their information as set forth in Rights to Your Information. We also may collect information on behalf of our clients to provide them with our services and in such cases, the client’s privacy policy, not this Privacy Policy, will apply. Please consult the client’s privacy policy as applicable, for information on your rights over personal information collected in relation to our clients.

Professional or employment-related information such as company name, company website, or industry. Collected from you directly through the Site and Service when you contact us by using the “Get In Touch” function on the Site. We use such information to provide you with our products and services and send you marketing communications. We share such information with our service providers.

In the preceding twelve (12) months, the Company has disclosed the following categories of personal information for a business purpose:

  • Personal identifiers.
  • Personal information covered by the California Customer Records statute (Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.80(e)).
  • Internet or other similar network activity.

Rights to Your Information

Right to Know About Personal Information Collected, Disclosed or Sold

As a California consumer, you have the right to request that we disclose certain information to you about our collection, use, disclosure or sale of your personal information over the past 12 months. Once we receive and confirm your verifiable consumer request (see Exercising Access and Deletion Rights), and subject to certain limitations that we describe below, we will disclose such information. You have the right to request any or all of the following:

  • The categories of personal information we collected about you.
  • The categories of sources from which the personal information is collected.
  • Our business or commercial purpose for collecting or selling that personal information.
  • The categories of third parties with whom we share that personal information.
  • The specific pieces of personal information we collected about you (also called a data portability request).

Deletion Request Rights

Only you, or a person or business entity registered with the California Secretary of State that you authorize to act on your behalf (an “authorized agent”), may make the requests set forth above.

The request should include your contact information and describe your request with sufficient detail that allows us to properly understand, evaluate, and respond to it. In addition, you should provide sufficient information that allows us to reasonably verify that you are the person about whom we collected the personal information or an authorized representative of that person.

Response Timing and Format

We will respond to consumer requests in a reasonably timely manner. If we require extra time to respond, we will inform you of the reason and extension period in writing. In order to protect the security of your personal information, we will not honor a request if we cannot verify your identity or authority to make the request and confirm the personal information relates to you. The method used to verify your identity will depend on the type, sensitivity and value of the information, including the risk of harm to you posed by any authorized access or deletion. Generally speaking, verification will be performed by matching the identifying information provided by you to the personal information that we already have.

Any disclosures we provide will only cover the 12-month period preceding our receipt of your request (and will not be made more than twice in a 12-month period). If we cannot comply with a request, or cannot fully comply with a request, the response we provide will also explain the reasons we cannot comply.

Personal Information Sales Opt-Out and Opt-In Rights

You have the right to direct us to not sell your personal information at any time (the "right to opt-out"). We do not sell the personal information of consumers we actually know are less than 16 years of age, unless we receive affirmative authorization (the "right to opt-in") from either the consumer who is at least 13 and less than 16 years of age, or the parent or guardian of a consumer less than 13 years of age.

Non-Discrimination

We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights, including, but not limited to, by:

  • Denying you goods or services.
  • Charging you different prices or rates for goods or services, including through granting discounts or other benefits, or imposing penalties.
  • Providing you a different level or quality of goods or services.
  • Suggesting that you may receive a different price or rate for goods or services or a different level or quality of goods or services.

14. California “Shine the Light”

Under California Civil Code Section 1798.83 (“Shine the Light”), California residents have the right to request in writing from businesses with whom they have an established business relationship: (a) a list of the categories of personal information, as defined under Shine the Light, such as name, email address, and mailing address, and the type of services provided to the customer that a business has disclosed to third parties (including affiliates that are separate legal entities) during the immediately preceding calendar year for the third parties’ direct marketing purposes; and (b) the names and addresses of all such third parties. If you do not want your personal information shared with any third party who may use such information for direct marketing purposes, then you may opt out of such disclosures by sending an email to us at privacy@highwirepr.com.

15. Nevada Privacy Rights

If you are a Nevada resident, you have the right to request that we do not sell your covered information (as those terms are defined in N.R.S. 603A) that we have collected, or may collect, from you. We do not sell your covered information, however, if you would like to make such a request you may do so by contacting us at privacy@highwirepr.com.

16. Changes To This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy is effective as of the date listed at the top of this Privacy Policy, and will remain in effect except with respect to any changes to its provisions in the future, which will be in effect immediately after being posted on this page.

We reserve the right, at our discretion, to change, modify, add, or remove portions from this Privacy Policy at any time, provided that such modifications will only be applied prospectively. Your continued use of the Site and Service after we post any modifications to the Privacy Policy on this page will constitute your acknowledgment of the modifications and your consent to abide and be bound by the modified Privacy Policy. You should check the language of our Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
